WARNING/DISCLAIMER Re: Use of “Doxo.com”
It has been recently brought to our attention that an unaffiliated company based in Washington State called “doxo” has a website which purports to be connected to GUA and – among other things – offers to act as a payment agent for bills and amounts owed to the Georgia Underwriting Association (GUA). This very same company has also created similarly worded websites in a similarly troubling effort to solicit customers of other insurance companies around the country.
Please be advised that GUA is NOT AFFLIATED with doxo.com and specifically does not authorize, nor do we recommend, using this service. The Doxo website mention of GUA and use of our address and contact information is unauthorized and highly misleading. This is a third-party website that purports to allow people to pay their bills online, with what appear to be substantial add-on fees paid to Doxo for performing this “service”.
Again, we strongly encourage the GUA’s customers, vendors and stakeholders to avoid this “service”. Among other things, the GUA cannot control when payments will be received from this organization – if they are received at all. This could very possibly result in a late payment or even cancellation of a policy due to non-payment.
To ensure timely payment, avoid unecesary add-on fees and to avoid unnecessary cancellation or non-renewal of your policy, we advise all our insureds to use the Credit Card Payment link on our GUA home page [have a link to it here]or by logging into the Customer Portal for online bill payments.
